Seely Park

Summer is hanging on by a thread in Sacramento this year, and judging by the amount of smiles at Seely Park today, the kids don't mind.

Our trip to Seely was twofold. First and foremost, we were invited to a birthday party. Secondly, I have wanted to check out what Seely Park has to offer for some time now.

And offer, it does! Seely Park has a feature that sprays water - definitely a plus in Sacramento's "dry heat"! My oldest isn't usually a fan of the spraying, but today he crossed over into the craziness. Drenched from head to toe, I couldn't drag him away from the thing, even to see the story telling, balloon animal making, face painting pirate lady who was the entertainment for the birthday party.

The park also offers two playgrounds, two sandboxes, bathrooms, picnic tables, and a nice ride along path for those learning to let go of the training wheels.

But if you're hot on a summer day, this is the place to be. Next time, I might just have to run through the fountains of water too. All in the name of research, right?

Seely Park is located on Pope Ave. just off of Morse.
